Last August we had to buy a new car as one of our cars laid down and died. I think the other one has never gotten over it and it took a turn for the worse and had to be towed to the repair place.
Since Clyde was without a car today I had to drive him to work which is a 30 minute drive. I like to have some humor in this section and I pretty much depend on Clyde for the funnies.
I didn’t have one today so I asked him if he had anything I could use.
I thought I gave you a few. What did you do with them? Dropped them in the trash wishing they were me?
Wow, he is one glib writer.
Enough said!

I am really dragging my brush today. I wanted to paint but I have so much to do that it may not happen. Hope I can get done and get in there. Painting is not easy but it always makes me smile – at least at the beginning before the arm wrestling.

This morning Clyde and I had a “Think Battle”. I told him I was having a hard time thinking of something funny for my blog and he said to stop all that thinking. That’s what’s wrong with this country.
What? People don’t think. They just stare at a phone and walk into poles or wreck cars.
I think I won that one.

Another Sunday shot out of a rocket! Too busy is better than not busy enough but I wish I could lasso a few hours and make them sit still for a while. I didn’t get anywhere near a painting today so I am extra crispy grumpy right now but I will get back to it tomorrow and try not to be so grumpy. Try. I may not succeed but as we all know, laugh and the world laughs with you, cry and you cry alone. So time to get back to laughing!

We are still wondering if we have animals running across the roof or taking up space in our attic. It takes a dare devil to get in our attic. The entrance is a little tiny hole in the closet that we have to use a ladder for and the insulation gets all over our clothes so we have to cover them with a sheet. No one wanted to do that today. Anyway I heard something that sounded like an animal hammering on our roof.
When I told Clyde he said, “Oh good. Here I go on my never ending quest to try to fix things I can’t fix here. It turned out to be a neighbor doing something with his lawn. It really did sound like it was on our roof. Oh well. The quest goes on and on!
We still do not have much hot water but that quest will continue when a part arrives for the solar guy to work with.

Clyde spends his evenings checking on the hawk migration in the back yard. Lately, a bird keeps pecking at the computer room window where I am attached to this merciless machine. This bird keeps hiding behind part of the window frame so I can’t see which species it is. I keep telling him The Bird Man is out back.
I told Clyde and he said he talks to a cat bird every evening before it goes to sleep,
What does it say?
Probably, why don’t you take those binoculars and yourself inside so I can go to sleep without a huge predator by my nest.
Makes sense to me.
Cute parrot joke. What do you call memory loss in a parrot? Polynesia!

I like to tease Clyde about the food he won’t eat. He claims that he is not that picky but he is the only person I have ever met that does not like barbecue sauce. Yesterday I told him I was going to get groceries so he could have his favorite meal. His reply was,
Orangutan pie?
Now you know that is your second favorite meal.
Monkey Ghost Souffle?
That’s the one.
Actually it was fish. As I have said before, Clyde hates fish. He forces himself to eat it once a week but he thinks we should all just let them keep on swimming.
Cute joke on the internet. What do fish do at a Foot ball game? They wave.

Well, my painting is behaving itself again. I figured out how to solve the composition problem and am now having a great time on the last layer. Now, how long will the great time last. Who knows? I really think this one is going to be highly successful but it might fight back and then I will move on while it sulks. I have learned over the years how to keep my sanity and still paint. For the millionth time, I really do love to paint!

I love to mention to Clyde the things I read on the internet. He usually comes up with a fun quip. I told him yesterday that according to the almighty computer, people should marry people that are good for their mental health. He added, and good for their bank accounts. I guess that is how you can avoid the saying,

Well, the painting I am working on is sneaky. It was working just fine for a while and then it decided it was arm wrestling time. Argh! I have a composition problem that I just can’t ignore so it is back to the easel with a frown on my face. When will these paintings ever learn to let me win once in a while? Oh well, I never get exactly what I want, but I do come close and almost all of them look better after some time has passed. I really do love to paint in spite of all the evidence to the contrary.

Ravens are so smart. I was listening to a short program on them yesterday and the speaker said they are as smart as a three year old child! Clyde says he talks to Ravens all the time. He doesn’t know what they are saying but he has fun talking to them and listening to their answers. I saw a cute raven joke. Edgar Allan Poe is writing next to what appears to be a passive aggressive raven. It keeps saying Never Mind!
I wonder if that is what a raven says to Clyde and he just doesn’t get it?
Clyde disagrees. He thinks the raven is telling him to look for a cliff and see if he can fly off of it.
