I usually really get into plans for the New Year that I keep for a quite a while but this year I am dragging. I am going to try to get it together and look forward to all the great things that are going to happen and ignore the bad things as much as possible. There is always a painting in my future!
There is an uplifting song about finding that one song that lasts your whole life long. I found that song a long time ago along with a lot of daily clean up. Some people say artists are congenital slobs. I am a frustrated slob because I hate to have a mess around me but I don’t have time to paint and clean up so I just look the other way until it is so bad I can’t work.
Here’s to the New Year and being able to walk in my studio!

Well, we took the Bluebaru for its first check up. Since our new car is blue and is a subaru, Clyde gave it the name, Bluebaru. I like it! Wow, oil changes now cost about $80! I don’t think the car was sick in any way but the dealership sent us a notice it was time for a check up.
Maybe they wanted to give it some vaccinations so it won’t get sick. Whatever it takes to keep the Bluebaru going and to keep our bank account a bank account with money in it.
If you like my work but don’t have any more room on your walls be sure to check out my paintings on just about anything but the kitchen sink on
I finished Wildflower Mist and if I were not so tired I would put it on my website and here. I actually escaped today and went swimming! I can’t believe how warm the water was at the Aquatic Center. Usually it is a little hard to get in. Still have a lot to do so I need to publish this and as Aunt Bee said to Otis, Get to it!
Well, Clyde’s work phone and our phone have made up. He can now give me a wake up call on that phone instead of his cell phone. I am so aggravated with computers right now that it is hard to look on the funny side. The Twitter massacre and my inability to figure out my smart phone that is way smarter than me has me uptight. Thousands of twitter accounts were blocked over and over again. I was one of them. We still don’t know what the problem was. I am in now but I wouldn’t be surprised if they lock me out again.
Here’s a little old time religion for you. You have to believe in the Bible for this one. According to Genesis God made people physically work for their existence. We have invented many ways to avoid work and look what has happened to our environment and our bodies as a result. As Beatrice Author’s character in the hit show Maude said whenever she thought someone had done something wrong, “God will get you for that!” Just a thought from a crabby artist.
Here’s a joke to lighten my mood. My boss told me to have a good day so I went home. I am home and I will try to have a good day in spite of all my work.
I meant to get this post out this morning but I had so many other things to do and then the lake called my name and I had to answer! Great day to swim and I always remember what Charles Schultz said about seasons this time of the year.
Summers fly. Winters walk. I would add summers get rained on a lot, too.
I am determined to work around the rain this summer and get some time at Claytor Lake. I hope I can convince Clyde to come out Thursday evening. He isn’t much for swimming but there are always birds to watch!

Like a lot of people, I have trouble grasping certain scientific theories. I found Math and Science to be rather difficult. I could do it but it always required a lot of effort learning something I was not interested in.
Do not misunderstand. I am glad I was required to take Algebra and I know that we all use Algebra and Calculus every day, just not specific formulas. They are incorporated into the technology all around us.
The theory that really blows my mind is time travel which I don’t think is at all possible. If it happened, it happened. If it hasn’t happened, it hasn’t happened.
I saw a great joke about time travel on the internet.
Interested in time travel? Meet here last Thursday at 7:00. I asked Clyde about it and he said he wanted to go but he was too early.
Need to practice some Line Dances for Saturday. We performed this last Saturday and now we will be doing it again this week. Yikes! We did well . The audience was great! I have to travel to Pulaski for class but the class may be moving to Radford soon. Oh yes. That would be great!

Life with The Word and Bird Man – Clyde Kessler
I am still looking for my glasses. I bought a chain and attached it to the pair I keep in the kitchen. I keep those on top of the fridge. It is against the law for them to be put anywhere else. Well, I broke the law and was just about ready to give up when they showed up on my dresser.
I told Clyde. you know you are hopeless with glasses when you lose the one with the chain attached. Maybe I should put them on in the morning and not take them off until bed time. Yikes! I hate reading glasses but I can’t do without them.
Just saw a cute joke about eye exams. Santa Claus is in the chair. The opthmalogist tells Santa he doesn’t care if he puts him on his naughty list, he is still going to dilate his eyes.
We are still down a car. I hope it won’t cost too much to fix it. I just got back from driving Clyde to work. The Prius has been a great car but it is getting to the do we fix it or buy a new one stage. I think it is time to start looking for a new one. Yuck! Hate shopping.

Poor Clyde is still having a lot of hip pain. He is considering a trip to the doctor to make sure he didn’t injure himself in some way. My muscle spasm is completely gone today. Yesterday Clyde wanted to get out and walk since it was somewhat better. I was still a little sore.
My grandfather’s saying about small towns came to mind as we started walking the trail. Go slow, see the town. Go fast, see the judge. Well, yesterday the saying was walk slow, see the park, walk fast, hurt the butt. We were not moving very fast.
I love to play my piano every day but I hate having it tuned. That hour of noise is awful! I have a great tuner who takes great care of my piano and he did that today. My ears are still ringing. I wish there were a magical way to tune a piano without any sound. LOL!
Check out my latest Skyline Beauty painting! I am now working on Chicago scenes!
Chicago Spin Original 12″ x 9″ Acrylic Painting $236
I now have fifteen illustrations for Dancing at Midnight’s Farmhouse which is scheduled to be in print January 2017. I still have time to do more as the revisions are going very fast. I revised four today. We are also considering some of my paintings in the Suggestions gallery. Some of them would work well with this book.
